Autodesk has released a new industry-leading CAD software, AutoCAD 2020. In addition to its main desktop versions (MacOS and Windows editions include a subscription) and its web version, AutoCAD offers integration with Microsoft and Box Cloud, as well as many other features.
Autodesk debuted the brand-new “AutoCAD 2020” in the middle of the year. The most recent release includes numerous new features and enhancements. Let’s find out what’s new inside.
2020 AUTODESK AUTOCAD

A new dark theme illuminates AutoCAD 2020, and all premium toolkits have a brand-new appearance! The Dark theme now has a modern, easy-on-the-eyes dark blue interface. The new dark theme is compatible with recent contrast enhancements and sharper iconography.
Enhancements to performance expedite work with AutoCAD 2020:
Each time you save your work, the process takes, on average, a mere half a second. This will save you hours of time annually. (AutoCAD users will collectively save 80 years of work in just one year!)
In addition, solid-state hard drives have a 50% faster installation time.
Display measurements at a glance.
With the new Quick Measurement Tool, which measures 2D drawings by hovering the mouse, measuring distances in AutoCAD 2020 is faster than ever. When moving the mouse between objects, the dimensions, distances, and angles are dynamically displayed.
AutoCAD 2020’s New Dark Theme
Effectively add blocks with the block palette.
The new block palette makes it simple to insert blocks through the use of visual galleries and the ability to filter for the desired block. Simply drag and drop the drawing from the current image, hall, or another drawing tab to the drawing. The palette makes it easier to find and add multiple blocks and blocks that have been used recently. It also has a repeat placement option that cuts down on the number of steps needed.

The DWG comparison feature, a fan favorite from last year’s release, has been expanded based on your feedback. You can now compare two versions of the drawing without leaving the current window and import the desired changes in real-time. Compare the new DWG toolbar with lightning speed.
Autodesk collaborates with Microsoft and Box.
AutoCAD is collaborating with Microsoft and Box, so if you already store your files in Microsoft One Drive or Box, you will have streamlined workflows and access to any DWG file with AutoCAD at any time.
